Emotional Spring Cleaning
Spring is here which means spring cleaning is here!
While you spring clean your house, spring clean your mind too! It’s the time of year for new beginnings, fresh starts, and adding color back in to the world.
- Go for a walk outside. Soak in the breeze and the sun and be thankful winter has passed.
- Let the sun shine on your face with your eyes closed. This can be done from the comfort of your home or office.
- Clean out the contact list in your phone/email and the friends list on your social media accounts. Delete. Delete. Delete.
- Start journaling. Get stuff out of your head.
- Go to a yoga or meditation class. If you’ve never been, try it just once.
- Snuggle with your pets.
- Take your negative thoughts out with the trash. Visualize that crap in the trash can being hauled away.
- Pray. Even if it’s just to ask God what to pray for. He’ll tell you.
- Don’t just throw stuff away, enjoy the feeling of it.
- Get a new plant that purifies the air or adds color to your room.
- Eat fresh fruits or vegetables.
- Ask for something you need.
- Take action on something you’ve been putting off.
- Cry if you need to. Let it out!
- Set an intention for the week to walk away from any negative situation you don’t need to be a part of.
- Apologize for a wrong-doing and move on.
- Write a forgiveness letter to someone who needs it. Send it, throw it, or burn it.
- Catch the negative self-talk and replace it with “STOP IT!” and move on to something else.
- Watch the sun rise with a fresh cup of coffee.
- Allow yourself to do anything healthy that feels good and stop doing everything else.
Get rid of anything that no longer serves you and make space for the good stuff!
